Now we are back home.
The following is a summary of what exactly we did on our two week journey.
-Sunday. Originally we were supposed to fly to Wien derectly but the flight was cancelled, but we got a flight to berlin and a connecting flight to Wien. From Wien we traversed to Steyr.

-On monday day we were given a tour of HTL Steyr and we are all impressed. This place is pretty awesome. After that we went to check out the ironwork around the city, which of there was plenty.

-On tuesday we visited Molln to see the workshop where the swiss guard’s armor is made. That place was super cool! We got a tour of the old workshop, the armoury and the modern workshop.
We also visited bladesmith Martin Huber’s workshop, very cool dude.

-On wednesday we did more laps around Steyr an visited the city museum.

-On thursday we went to linz and visited a museum.

-Friday, saturday and sunday we mostly rested and explored Steyr.

-On monday we went to the workshop and forged frying pans and bbq sticks.

-On tuesday we went to Ybbsitz to visit their blacksmiths. We also met the Mayor himself.

-Wednesday was the second forging day.
We got to instruct the first year students in making axe heads.

-Thursday to friday was mostly sightseeing and preparing for departure.

-And finally, saturday morning we went to wien and in the evening we flew home.

What did i learn?
Various techniques of forging, ideas for the workshop layout, many things about the austrian way of life and culture and even a bit of german.
And as mentioned before, i even got to guide the young blacksmiths a bit.
Overall, a very productive and educational trip. I’m so glad that we got this opportunity.
